The Federal Privacy Act of 1974 requires that you be notified that disclosure of your Social Security number is voluntary and is not required to determine admission. However, your Social Security number is necessary so that the University can match your admission application with any relevant test scores and/or your financial aid information. Additionally, your Social Security number is necessary so that the University can report education expenses to the IRS to verify relevant education-deductions that you may claim on your federal income tax returns. Accordingly, failure to provide this information may affect the University’s ability to process your financial aid and may delay the processing of an admission decision. The University will not disclose your Social Security Number without your consent to anyone outside the University except as discussed above or otherwise mandated by law.

Coker University, in compliance with the Jeanne Cleary Act, has prepared an Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings owned or controlled by the University, and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, timely warning of crimes, sexual and interpersonal violence, and personal safety at Coker University. This report is distributed to all current faculty, staff, and students and is available to all prospective students, faculty, and staff.
